what we believe
There is one God.
The Bible, though written by many persons, is inspired by one source: God.
His holy book is perfect, or inerrant.
God is unchanging and triune.
The trinity includes the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (sometimes referred to as the Holy Ghost). All of these parts of the "Godhead" are equally God.
God loves us with an unconditional love.
We are called to love one another with that same type of love: it's called agape love.
God so loved the world that He gave His only son, so that whoever would believe in, or accept His son, would not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:16)
The Son, Jesus, died on the cross to serve as the ultimate sacrifice and pay the penalty for our sins. Just how He showed His love a few thousand of years ago by His sacrifice, He still shows His love today.
On the third day after Jesus died on the cross, he rose from the dead. This is referred to as a "resurrection."
We believe that Christ's resurrection power can still be seen today. That He can still heal today. We believe that His Spirit is alive and not quenched.
We believe in the Church, the bride of Christ.
We believe in the power of holy unity within the Church.
We believe in the power of worship, and that all things are to be done to the glory of God.
Apostle's Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic* church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
